Strome Landing Boat Ramp - Siletz River
This ramp is on the upper end of the tidal portion of the Siletz River. Lincoln County Parks has a good writeup and this page supplements that.
IMPORTANT - This launch area is located on Highway 229 connecting the town of Siletz with coastal Highway 101. That road is closed between mileposts 14 and 15 due to a major landslide. The closure is just upriver from the Strome Landing Park and there is no access to the park from the town of Siletz, without going around by Highway 101. The Strome Landing Park is open from the Kernville (Ocean) side on Highway 229. See the map below. The blue line is the river and the less obvious white line is the road. The slide damage is major and the road will not be open in the near future.
Location
Ramp
The ramp is paved. There is no dock at the ramp. The water is tidal and the nearest tide station is Chinook Bend that is just East of the Coyote Rock Marina in the map, above. The tides at Strome Landing will be later than at Chinook Bend. This should be a good location for working a down stream and back trip that centers on a low tide. At some times of the year, this area is busy with fishing.
See the Parks link above for a pictures of the ramp and area. The map below shows the layout of the park. The Brown Park campground is closed for parts of 2026. Check before planning a trip there.
