Fern Ridge Shores is a quiet manufactured home community and RV park with a small marina, and a launch ramp and dry camping available to the public, for a fee. The marina and ramp are in a narrow notch in the east side of the Jeans Peninsula, the big peninsula in Fern Ridge Reservoir, near its tip.

From Eugene, take West 11th Ave./Hwy. 126 west until you see Fern Ridge Reservoir on the right. Continue past Perkins Peninsula County Park and take the first right past the stretch of open lake onto Ellmaker Rd. and follow it to its end at Jeans Rd. Turn Right and follow Jeans Rd. almost to its end to Fern Ridge Shores. From the west, or north, turn east on Jeans Rd. from Territorial Hwy. just north of its junction with Hwy. 126, across from the shopping center, and follow it to near its end.

Description

The gently sloped, paved launch ramp is the second shallowest on Fern Ridge, two feet shallower than Richardson Park's and three feet shallower than the ramp at Orchard Point. There is also a shallow bar at the mouth of the tiny harbor, and not much water in it. There is ample parking near the ramp. These photos of the ramp were taken in mid-July of 2026, a dry year, when the lake was about 3 1/4 feet below full, leaving about 3 1/4 feet of water at the toe of the ramp.

The management of Fern Ridge Shores is friendly, if Sheila in the office is any indication. Check in at the office to get a day use pass for $5. Dry campsites are $25 a night, with access to a laundry room and showers.

Water Character

The east shore of the Jeans Peninsula is well protected from the frequent evening west wind, and from the brisk summer afternoon northerly winds, if they're not coming too much from the east. Fern Ridge shores gives access to this area for boaters with small boats, canoes or kayaks who don't want to cross a lot of open water to explore this shoreline.
