Peoria (Willamette River)
Located just North of the village of Peoria, Oregon, this launch ramp gives access to the Willamette River. It is a paved ramp leading to a side slough. There is no dock to keep your feet dry. On a nice weekend day the facility can be quite popular with boats, canoes, kayaks and inner-tubes. Day use parking is available at the top. The facility is run by Lynn County Parks and there is no charge.
Location
GPS Coordinates: 44.454090,-123.210179
This small park is off of Peoria Road, just over 5 miles south of the intersection with Highway 34 East of Corvallis. Peoria Road connects to Harrisburg on the South end and is a pleasant country highway.
The big picture is seen from the Open Street map with locating pins. The local details can be seen in the following map.
Water Characteristics This access is on a side slough, as seen on the map, and there is no river current at the ramp. One caution is that the water can be shallow getting out to the main stem of the river. To understand the Willamette, guide books are available, with some of the best from the Willamette Riverkeeper. Be sure you understand the river conditions as the next stop will be Corvallis, about 7 miles down stream.
