Ichwhit (Bear) Park - Siletz River
Located on the tidal portion of the Siletz this modern facility is about 7 miles up-river from Kernville. Lincoln County Parks has a good write-up and this page is primarily a link to that. There is no charge for using this boat ramp.
IMPORTANT - This launch area is located on Highway 229 connecting the towns of Siletz and Toledo with coastal Highway 101. This road is closed between mileposts 14 and 15 due to a major landslide. The closure is about 7 miles above Ichwhit Park and there is no access to the park from the Siletz side, without going around by Highway 101. The Ichwhit Park is fully open from the Kernville (Ocean) side on Highway 229. The slide damage is major and the road will not be open in the near future (Spring 2026).
Boat Ramp - The ramp is paved. There is a nice dock at the ramp and car/trailer parking. The water is tidal, along with river flow. The nearest tide station is Chinook Bend a few miles downstream. Another ramp on the Siletz is at Strome Landing, and that has a separate writeup. Be aware that at some times of the year, this area is busy with fishing. The pictures below are from the Lincoln County web site referenced above.
