Cheadle Lake (Lebanon)
Cheadle Lake is an old mill pond at the southern end of Lebanon Oregon. It is a friendly area for small boats and also has hiking trails on the east side of the lake and on the multi-fingered island
Road Access
Access is a short distance from Hwy 20. The turn off is at the O'Reilly Auto Parts. Go east on Russell Dr that turns into River Dr. The launch ramp parking lot will be on the right.
Location
Launch Ramp
The boat launch area is shown on the map above by an 'L'. The parking lot is unpaved, but the ramp is paved. There is a small dock on one side of the ramp. Ramp use is free. A ramp slope number and ramp picture are coming.
Boat Limitations
At less than 100 acres, this is a small lake. No power boats are allowed, but canoes, kayaks and rowboats, with or without sail are welcome. Fishing for bass, bluegill and the like is popular.
Water Character
It is a lake and an old mill pond. Expect some industrial elements in the area and it is not far from Hwy 20. Ignore that and it is a neat place to spend some time. The wildlife are moving in and that speaks well for the place! One negative is the abundance of water weed that grows during the summer. Late summer and early fall finds too much weed for boating, but winter and spring are all fine.
