Gather at the Port of Toledo Paddle Park on the Yaquina Bay Road, about 2 miles towards Newport from Toledo, at 10:30 AM. We put the boats in on the long dock. This requires a short canoe/kayak carry. Paddle up the Yaquina River to Toledo and then up Depot Creek to the dam. Return to the boat house at Toledo for lunch (Pizza and Hawaiian are closed Sundays, but you can bring a sandwich, or go to the Timbers, or maybe Cup of Sass is open. Then proceed back to the Paddle Park with a diversion to the green marker '45' estuary, across from the Paddle Park, completing around 2:30 PM.
I use the term "paddle" loosely. Rowing and various propeller methods all work.
There is no launch ramp at the Paddle Park, but bigger non-carryable boats could be launched at the Toledo Airport Boat Ramp. When the tide is high, many small boats can access the Paddle Park dock. But, it gets very thin at low tide. There is a bit of a channel along the river edge on the Park side, but there also mud farther out. Study that carefully before going west at marker '45'. The best entry may be from downstream, starting at green marker '43'. Bigger boats may also have problems with the estuary part of the trip.
Total length is about 6 nautical miles. High tide is at about 11 AM. This is still 10 days out, but the NOAA experts are saying there could be a few showers but no storm. Sounds plenty OK to me, and I plan to be there.
