We're having this impromptu messabout just because the weather is going to be warm and sunny, and because there's a good pizza joint across the street from the docks. Activities will range from sitting on the dock BSing and soaking up some rays, through sailing, paddling or rowing on Depot Slough, to venturing up or down the Yaquina River. Come for the day or stay the night. We don't know yet whether anyone will stay over until Tuesday. It depends on how much fun we're having. Dock space is available to tie up your boat overnight; contact the Port for details; be sure to tell them you're a Coot coming for the messabout.

Toledo is a small city located on the Yaquina River, about 12 miles from its mouth, inland from Newport on the central Oregon coast. Its main industry is a large paper mill. The Port of Toledo runs a boatyard nearby, and Yaquina Boat Equipment services large fishing boats next to the port docks. The Yaquina Pacific Railroad Historical Society has a museum near the docks. The Toledo Community Boathouses provide boats and boating programs to the community.
