-Tell us about the access site, and anything about the launch ramp.   Is it steep or shallow?  Slime at the bottom, perhaps?  A very important element is the depth of the ramp.  Most of  our water varies in depth and some ramps do not work for the lower levels.

+Be aware that the lake is used for flood control that causes low water levels  in the winter season.  In addition, Foster Lake serves to limit flow variations on the downstream South Santiam River.  This is the result of daily variations in water inflow from Green Peter dam and causes water depth variations on Foster Lake.  Water level information is available from [[https://www.nwd-wc.usace.army.mil/nwp/teacup/willamette/|the US Army Corps of Engineers]].
