Location

GPS Location: 44.59287, -123.941848

This located on Bay Road about 2-1/2 miles from Toledo going towards Newport. It is marked on the road, but easy to miss until you drive by. By water it is part of the navigable waters of the Yaquina River and shown on Chart 18581. Green day marker '45' is out in the river slightly to the north. On the chart copy above it is by the letter 'P'.

Water Character

There is a kayak launching device at the park. This park provides access for the Yaquina River from the ocean at Newport up to where it is not tidal above Elk City. This gives over 20 miles of river plus a number of side sloughs. The navigable category stops at the bridge above Toledo, but water suitable for all small boats continues another 10 miles. There are launch ramps at South Beach Newport, by green flashing marker '47, Cannon Creek and Elk City County Park. Importantly, this park has no trailer launch ramp. Trailer boats use the the nice Port of Toledo facility across the river at marker '47'. The water around the Park is shallow at lower tidal water. The chart shows the general story.
