-Introductory words here to give the general character of the access site, such as "a paved single ramp with a separate courtesy dock. Then any useful information such as ownership, use fees, seasonal closures and the like.  Any description of the water being accessed goes below, not here.+Ramp and dock. Picture from Lincoln County.

-**Picture of Access Point** - A picture is really important.  It should show the overall layout of the ramp or beach including local docks.  If everything shows from the approach to the water that is great.  If two pictures are needed, that is fine Do not put big images here.  A width of about 640 pixels is generally adequate.+This excellent facility is about 10 miles above Toledo.  The water is still tidal and reverses unless recent rain have been big.  This is operated by
 +[[https://www.co.lincoln.or.us/1061/Elk-City-Park|Lincoln County Parks]] and no fees are charged.  There is a campground in the same park and fees apply there.

 **Location** **Location**

-GPS Location 44.xxxx, -123.xxxx   Put the access lat-lon here. Try to get at least 4 digits for the GPS (5 is better, 6 is overkill)   +GPS Location44.620726, -123.875307

-If possible, an image of a map showing the access point and associated park or the like goes here.  One of the best sources, that is open to use, is [[https://www.openstreetmaps.org|Open Street Maps]].  If you crop the map image, be sure you leave the credit that appears at the bottom.  Again, try to keep the map image to around 640 pixels.+{{:elkcitymap.png?6400|Map of Elk City area}}

-Alsoinclude driving instructions here, if needed.  If a turn-off is hard to locatea few words could be valuable.  Any special instructions such as freeway exit numbers can go here.+A 10 mile paved road connects to Toledofrom the bottom of the map.  Going upstream from Elk City by vehicle has two choices.  A gravel road follows the Yaquina to US Hwy 20.  The other optionHarlan Road faithfully follows Big Elk Creek through the woods to the widening at Harlan, with connection back to Hwy 20 at Burnt Woods.  Most people access Elk City from Toledo.

-Tell us about the access siteand anything about the launch ramp  Is it steep or shallow?  Slime at the bottom, perhaps?  A very important element is the depth of the ramp.  Most of  our water varies in depth and some ramps do not work for the lower levels +
 +This is a great parkwith full day services along with no-hookup campingBoat trailer parking is available.  The launch ramp is in good condition and the L-shaped ramp is convenient and in good repair.

-This can't cover everything.  But, if the lake is drained in the winter, put it here.  Is there a big stump at low water?  Maybe, the weeds grow in to the access area in summer?  That sort of information directly affects the decision to use the access point.

 +The river is open down stream from Elk City, and is a wonderful place to explore.  Both the Yaquina River and Big Elk Creek can be accessed going upstream by small boats.  The distance varies from year-to-year, limited either by trees across the water or by shallows.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- +This is a river valley, so the winds are generally reduced by the hillsBut, the water is open enough to be challenging for small boats, especially when winter storm is aroundThe flow is modified by recent rainsometimes in a major way, but normally the controlling feature is tidal actionTide predictions are available for Toledo and they will give a general indication of this area with a delay of around an hour.
-Put into *edit mode* and you'll see the underlying markup for this fake site  Then just copy the markup and everything above this line and you'll have a rough template for a new site   You are just using edit mode to get at the underlying markupso please don't accidentally save the template!   Then just paste the markup into your new site and put in the correct data+
