I recently received the Coots Library book, Reach of Tide, Ring of History by Sam McKinney. What a fascinating read. Got it on a Saturday afternoon, finished it before I went to sleep that nite. Only 110 pgs, but I couldn't put it down. It tied in perfectly with another book I was reading at the time, Pacific Northwest, An Interpretive History, by C. A. Schwantes. He's not nearly the storyteller that McKinney is, and it's much thicker -- 560 pgs. Very interesting though.
